Hi ppl! First of all, I'd like to wish YY a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry for the late post as she's still holding on to the pics, but oh well... Can't wait to post alr. Hahax.

Ok. Here comes the main point:
Last Thursday, 280509 was the National Inter-School TaeKwonDo Championships 2009. Team Meridian Done exceedingly well, considering the fact that we've been ranked below the average for a number of years now. Anw, it wasn't expected that we would have done well, but i'll like show appreciation for the hard work of the club and coaches =)

Initially, before i went for the competition, i was confident that i was gonna do well, and thus, have aimed to be this year's champion for Male Black Belt Individuals Category. However, my score in the first 2 rounds although having me qualified for the finals, i wasn't topping the game, coming in only 6th and 4th place respectively. My team mate Kun Yi, had performed better than expected, coming in 1st and 2nd respecetively in the qualifiers. I was disappointed, and meditated over the problem over lunch. With a prayer of faith, and Sir Bryan pointing out my problems, I marched into the arena thinking to myself:" Let's not be stressed out. Just relax and perform as per normal. Let's do this for the sport I've always loved, not for the prize." In the end, i topped the score in the finals by a margin, over Leonard Low from Temasek JC. Finally, Temasek JC had failed to clinche gold in the black belt events, where they always had. (First gold - Individuals Male Black Belt)

The Meridian Black Belt Team, Consisting of Kun Yi, Clement, Pei Yi, Yi Jun and I, were the second last to perform, and the last to receive our medals. Haha. We performed exceptionally well, as our movements co-ordinated miraculously, during our performance, which is rare, as we were struggling during our trainings. We had our scores tied with Temasek Black Belt Team, and the winner was decided over presentation. In the end, we emerged victorious, clinching the gold in our team event. (Second gold - Black Belt Team)

I'd like to dedicate a few words to Kun Yi:
U've improved a lot since i first met u last year, and we've been through many competitions. Finally, our hard work have paid off, and congratulations on ur first gold medal in Tae Kwon Do. WE'RE DAMN GOOD!!!

My first ever Competition in TKD: 2nd Bukit Purmei Taekwondo Championships 2006 - Black Belt Heavyweight, Gold.


My first ever National competition: 35th National Taekwondo Championships, Pesta Sukan 2008 - Black Belt Heavyweight, Gold.

My second Inter-JC tournament: National Inter - School Taekwondo Championships 2009 - Black Belt Male Individuals, Black Belt Team, both Gold.

It's seldom that a Taekwondo exponent is both well-versed in both Sparring and Poomsae, and hence, I'm am really glad that I am the Champion in both fields, a Double Champion! =)

All this would not have been possible without the love of Christ for me, and Him working in me. I hereby give my praises and all honour to God. =)

NYBT BBQ

Hi people! it's been awhile since i posted, so here's what i've been doing........

Had BBQ last Saturday! It's really enjoyable and great to be with the team! So glad to see everyone helping out, and smiling. From starting of fire to packing up, everyone cooperated and this made things easier. I would like to thank the captains for planning the activities, both Bryans, Simon and Shixun for starting the fire, Yongliang, Dan su, Linus and Bernice for BBQ-ing the food, the teachers for providing the money, coach for coming, Mathea for making desserts, Brenda for helping Mathea, Qian yi's parents for preparing the food, Qian yi for helping out in everything, Kim wei for buying the marshmallows, Josephine and Milly for coming despite having something on before that! =)

Overall. i believe the BBQ was a success. Oh ya and the games..... awesome (especially the forfeits)! here are some photos taken!

The times when we endured tough trainings, fought hard in the pilot pen cup and A Div, the great time spent in Batam and this BBQ are really memorable. Though it has only been a few months since the team got together, the bonds built are pretty strong. I believe the team will work hard together for the remaining few months and achieve something next year! =)

P.S. Sorry YY for not attending your B'dae party. Hope you like the present! =)

A.L.A.F. in Marina Square

Hi ppl! Havent updated the blog in a really long time yeah? haha. Here are some photos of us in Marina Square. Anw, A.L.A.F. stands for 'Act Like A Fool'. =) Lets view the photos in a storyline fashion shall we?

One fine day, the members of SacrifaR were strolling in Marina Square. A gust of wind had directed their attention to two suspicious figures. They've decided to have a look of what's going on.The heroic trio rushed to the scene, only to find out that they were their long lost buddies, who have robbed the bank out of desperation. Being emphatic beings that they are, they've decided to assist them in their getaway. Ethan(right), listen to the directions from EyePower(the one not lifting a finger to carry the loot), to drive to them their getaway vehicle. Julian(center) showered EyePower with moral support by holding his hand. Skythe(left), lent Brainless(the one ended up carrying the loot) a helping hand.
The Unlawly Duo left the scene in a rush without hesitation, and left SacrifaR behind. They had no chioce but to remain strolling in Marina Square. Everything was fine, and they've assumed that nobody's uncovered their doings. Until... *roaring thunder*...
They were stopped by Dectective TooTall, who towered over them with a staggering height of 2.5metres.
Unwilling to conform, the Heroic Trio stand their ground, and tried to push their luck, and see if they could intimidate him. However, this story is full of unexpected twists and turns. Before you even noe it, the unexpected happened.
A fierce battle broke out, which would determine if the unity of SacrifaR could pull them through, this ordeal. Skythe was wrestled to the ground, and elbowed to the groin(OUCH!). The excruciating pain is evident by his groan and facial expression.
Julian tried to help, but to no avail. He too, received the same treatment from Detective TooTall, and was flat on his belly. Comical as it may seem, but the depths of pain that these two have undergone is indescribable.
Just when the future looks bleak, and that all hopes have seemed to be lost, Ethan came and save the day. With a forceful front kick delivered to the face, Julian and Skythe were Avenged Sevenfold. LOL.

Btw, Avenged Sevenfold is a metal band, for those who are unaware. =)

Back from Batam

Hi people! It's been a long time since i last posted. Been busy with school work and trainings! There's so many things to do in so little time. A division is coming up soon, and there'll be a lot more sch work to catch up! Nevertheless, it will not be as bad for NYBT will be striving hard together. Having said that, it reminds me of the days at Batam! AWESOME! Here are some photos.
